Before I get to my choice Halloween track this year I want to quickly point out the little play button that is sitting in front of the mp3s on this page.  If you click on it the script will conveniently and quickly stream the song for you, so if you would rather sample before committing to an actual download then that option is now available.  With that noted, let's get spooky with Hella.  I've been absolutely loving their contribution to the Grass Roots Records' Family Album compilation that I mentioned not too long ago, and because of that I knew that it needed to be my Halloween anthem this year.  Plus, I really didn't want to rehash the same songs from last year, as that is a rather lame way to go about doing things.  In any case, onto the music!  Enjoy.

:Hella - Friday The 13th:  This is a pure mind-fuck.  Not only do the guys throw you right into the mix of things straight from the beginning, but then they spend the six minutes that follow it taking your ass on the weirdest groove-inducing ride you've ever been on.  It's hard to take my breath away these days, but this punches me in the stomach relentlessly and forces it from every time.  Here's a warning though, putting this on at your costume party may result in the entire crowd turning into a bunch of wild, body shaking Neanderthals bent on destroying everything around them.  Or something.

Here is the video for The Things That People Do When They Think No One Is Looking, which is from the band's latest album, There's No 666 In Outer Space.  It's a straight up gem both sonically and visually, so expect to love it.
