I don't how the week has been going for all of you, but for me it's been flying by at a break neck pace.  So, because of that I took a moment to breathe yesterday and I purposely sought out an artist that would help calm my brain a bit.  What I ended up with was a guy named Staffen Ulmert, who works under the moniker of Mojib.  Up until now he has apparently been recognized more for his remixes, but now he has a full length effort titled Whimsical Lifestyle that is set to drop next week on NXR.  I haven't heard all of it, but judging from the clips on his Myspace I'm going to go out on a limb and say that he will probably silence anyone who has had doubts as to whether or not he can deliver more than a remix here or there.  Enjoy.

:Mojib - Break Of Dawn:  Despite the title, I can't help but think that this song feels like something that would be played in the credits of a film.  The story is over.  It's time to move on.  Take this beautifully constructed tune and we'll "see you in the morning light."  Though, I suppose it's not really too important how you interpret it since the arrangement, which is made up of sweeping synths, an intricate beat and numerous other crafty details, is undeniably fantastic no matter what.  This is a must-hear for those of you who love Explosions In The Sky or any other sonically complex instrumental artist.

Here is one of the remixes that Mojib is known for.  It's a mash up of sorts that uses various parts of Unkle's Safe In Mind and Muse's Super Massive Black Hole.  I think the song is rather cool, but I adore the video, which includes: cowboys, kung fu, laser pistols, sex, over-acting, and Star Wars-esque ghosts.  Crazy!
