I saw the Darjeeling Limited last night, and I absolutely loved it.  I don't know if I can say it was better than Rushmore or even the Life Aquatic, but I am willing to anoint it as one of the more well made films of the year.  Though,  at this point I can't say I could ever expect Wes Anderson to deliver anything less.  Anyway, on Monday I said I would have more on the San Diego trio known as Grand Ole Party and today I'm coming through on my promise with a song from their debut full length, Humanimals.  As of now the  disc is only available on iTunes, but presumably DH Records will be bringing the hard copies sometime later this fall.  I firmly believe they're going to be huge once that happens, so if you only pick one bandwagon a year to jump on then this is definitely the one.  Enjoy.

:Grand Ole Party - Look Out Young Son:  On stage Kristin Grundred reminded me of a sultry version of Karen O that knows how to pound on a drum kit like one of the best.  But how about on disc?  Well, to be honest it really isn't too different since her voice still commands all of your attention once you manage to stop shaking your ass to the huge beat and pop-enthused garage rock guitar riffs.  If you've been looking for something similar to the recent Noisettes effort then I think this is what you seek.  Hell, it may even be better.

Below is a video of the band performing Bad, Bad Man on some show called San Diego On The Rise.  I think it works wonders in showing why I praised the band so much for their show this past Sunday.  They clearly know how to entertain.
