Before I get to today's artist
I just want to point out that it's a whole fucking load of shit that I can't
watch the Cowboys play the Packers tonight because of the fact that I don't
have the NFL Network. Now, with that out of my system I shall move
onto Cadence Weapon. The former Pitchfork writer dazzled on his last
effort, Breaking Kayfabe, and since he signed to Epitaph and put on a
great show at Fun Fun Fun Fest I've been anxiously waiting to get my grubby
hands on something from his new full length, Afterparty Babies.
Fortunately, the guy also known as Rollie Pemberton didn't disappoint on the
first taste, so my official stance is that 2008 is going to the year of the
Weapon. It will be unavoidable, so start the loving now. Enjoy.

Weapon - In Search Of The Youth Crew:
I'm not sure exactly what Pitchfork was trying to say in
their description, as they understandably just seemed to
excited to write anything coherent, but on my end this can
only be described as the type of song that grabs your
attention and then proceeds to make you shake your hips
uncontrollably. Also, your hands will probably shoot
into the air and you will feel an insatiable need to mumble
the ultra quick verses and yell the catchy as hell chorus.
In other words, it's the ultimate crowd pleaser.
As is the case
with most videos, this pretty much makes no sense.
However, the old school video game theme is entertaining and
Sharks itself is an awesome song, so I guess it's all
good considering that it at least leaves you with a smile.
