Yesterday I mentioned the forever great Secretly Canadian, and today I'm rambling about another label of the same caliber.  This time though it's Morr Music, who have a rather large double disc compilation titled A Number Of Small Things hitting store shelves today.  The effort, which features music from Seabear, Benni Hemm Hemm, Populous and B. Fleischmann, looks like a winner for anyone hoping to find a nice something or other to stuff people's stockings with.  As for me, I'm honestly just thrilled that it has some unheard material from Electric President (Ben Cooper and Alex Kane).  I really loved their self titled release from last year, so hopefully the gem below is proof that a follow-up isn't too far around the corner.  Enjoy.

:Electric President - Dotted Lines:  "There's always laugh tracks in my brain whenever I try to explain this."  In addition to the duo's penchant for nifty soundscapes that are all the best parts of dream and electronic pop, I think that what I appreciate most is the songwriting.  They could easily stray into the realm of the kind of overly nonsense that is forgettable the moment you hear it, but instead they use a bit of subtly in the music and the delivery of the vocals to provide contrast and depth to the inherent sweetness of the lyrics.  More pop acts should take note.

Here is the video for a number titled Insomnia.  I think it's probably one of Electric President's best songs, but the work done in the piece make it at least ten times better.  Either that, or I'm a complete sucker for Rubik's Cube-esque visuals and don't know it.
