Can you guys believe that we're already half way through November?  More importantly, can you even possibly fathom the fact that I had absolutely no idea that Aloha was working on new material!?  Well, they are.  In fact, some of it has already been wrapped up in the form of an EP titled Light Works, which is set to  be delivered to retailers everywhere on December 4 by way of Polyvinyl Records, and the rest of it looks to be arriving at some point in what is currently be rumored as early 2008.  Obviously, I'm pretty excited for a follow-up, but it really shouldn't come as a surprise for those of you who happen to remember that the band's last effort, Some Echoes, was one of my favorite albums from last year.  Feel free to get excited with me.  Enjoy.

:Aloha - Body Buzz:  The band's last album was pretty much the definition of dream pop.  This is more like dream pop mixed with radio ready pop rock.  I'm not saying that's bad or anything, as the song is certainly a gem as far as streamlined efforts can get, but it would have been nice if they had been a tad bit more adventurous.  Regardless of the sound though, the songwriting is still as loveable as ever.  For instance, the line: "Perfection is elusive/Peace of mind is everyday/Cut your loses and your illusions."  Nice.

This is the slightly strange stuttering video for Summer Away, which is a song from an older album titled Here Comes Everyone.  I've actually only ever heard a handful of songs from it, but I would guess that the entire disc is pure quality.  Or something.
