Well, Lost's finale for Season 3 didn't bother to disappoint last night.  Here's hoping the first episode of Season 4 is just as brilliant, especially since we have to wait until 2008 to see it.  Yuck.  Let's move onto today's ramble about Dappled Cities, who just so happen to be from the very place that Lost's Flight 815 departed from before the crash.  Coincidence?  Probably not.  Anyway, this quintet is quite good and they are on the verge of releasing their sophomore effort titled Granddance on June 5.  The disc, which comes courtesy of Dangerbird Records, looks as if it will be another fine addition to the numerous other indie pop albums that have been ruling the world lately.  Enjoy.

:Dappled Cities - Fire Fire Fire:  When I look at how the cover art for Granddance matches what the band seems to be about I can completely understand why this dreamy pop song feels so perfectly realized.  The sound is a wonderful flowing mixture of energetic drumming, catchy guitar riffs and just enough umph from the other instruments so that it keeps from becoming stale.  I could probably listen to this without any vocals, though I should note that they are rather spectacular.  In fact, I still can't stop humming "You're not a fire, so I will not dance in you."

Youtube actually had a plethora of live videos and interviews but I really enjoyed what was made for the song above.  It's a very charming piece so feel free to love it lots.
