Let's get another week of super great music going with the dance-enthused sounds of Grand National.  The 6-piece electro pop band, which is centered around the creative brains of Rupert Lyddon and Lawrence Rudd, will be releasing their Recall Records' branded sophomore effort, A Drink And A Quick Decision, in digital format on June 18.  I missed out on their debut, Kicking The National Habit, so I can't say whether or not the new disc is a vast improvement, but from the viewpoint of a GN noob I am willing to say that their efforts are worth your time.  Actually, that is probably an understatement given that the band has been praised by just about every major publication on the face of the Earth.  Enjoy.

:Grand National - By The Time I Get Home There Won't Be Much Of A Place For Me:  What happens when you take indie pop and mash it together with an obvious love for Erasure?  Well, apparently you get a catchy as hell number that embeds itself in your mind and refuses to leave.  I would recommend grabbing some headphones but I'm certain that it would just result in you repeatedly yanking them from the jack as you attempt to emulate your favorite 80s dance moves.

:Grand National - Joker And Clown:  This is one of my favorite songs from the new album.  It has a completely different sound, as the dance-worthy pop has been replaced by something more melodic, but it still manages to be very catchy.  Normally, bands don't switch gears as easy as it's done here, but GN has some talented people behind it who obviously have an ear for what works for them.  When you get done dancing to the song above I advise that you use this one to help you wind down.
