Last night I lost $25 gambling
and had a Triple Prime Burger at Ruby Tuesday's. It was awesome.
Anyway, the duo that were jumped in Houston by the cop investigating a noise
complaint at a concert are back with new material. The Saddle
Creek artist are rolling out a little EP, The Scenery Of Farewell, on
June 19 that contains five songs that evolved throughout numerous sound
checks and live appearances. The Alex Newport produced old-new
material also features various musicians from San Francisco contributing
with string instruments (cello, double base and violin). I'm excited
to have something different to listen to from these guys, but it only makes
the wait for their third full length even longer. Enjoy.
:Two Gallants - Seems Like Home To Me:
Two Gallants have always been high on the list of bands that I would really
like to see live, and this song only makes that desire stronger. The
vocals are incredibly inspired and sing-a-long worthy, the acoustic guitar
picking is beautiful, the subtle use of the cello is great, and the drumming
has just the right amount of raw energy packed into it. In other
words, it's a story wrapped in a blanket of a emotion. You're going to
be listening to this on repeat all weekend.
As always, I
did some browsing around on Youtube for a little extra
something to share, and what I found was the video for
The Prodigal Son. Not only is the piece nice but
it just so happens to be for one of my favorite songs off of
their second full length,
What The Toll Tells.
