Good news!  I think that I am almost over whatever it is that has been slowing me down this week.  I sure hope all of you noticed how much love I showed all of you by not letting a congested head stop me from listening to loads of great music.  In any case, it's Friday so let's dance with Idlewild and call it a week.  The Scottish quartet already released their latest effort, Make Another World, earlier this month in the UK but for some reason I didn't bother seeking it out.  Now, it will be released next week courtesy of Sanctuary Records and since I was a fan of the last LP I figured I better throw out some comments on a couple of songs that I ran across.  Enjoy the music and be sure to drop back by tomorrow for the weekly podcast.

:Idlewild - No Emotion:  This is a whole different than most everything that I remember from Warnings/Promises but I respect that the band attempted something different and managed to pull it off.  The slight new wave-esque vocals are kind of strange at first but once you settle into the song it quickly takes you over and inspires you to get dancey.  If you prefer to end the week on an upbeat, energetic number than this is definitely for you.

:Idlewild - In Competition For The Worst Time:  I have heard people mention REM in the same breath as Idlewild and this is certainly one of those songs when that comparison rings true.  The guitar work has a simply yet crafty sound and lines like "No matter how hard I try I'm drunk in silence like I'm use too" would Mr. Stipe a little jealous.  Download if you want a nice throwback type of track to end your week.
