I'm sick.  It sucks.  Will the music today cure me?  Probably not, but I do have some really good stuff.  I noticed that this weekend my email inbox was stuffed with a lot of great music that would take me a whole week to share with you guys if I went about posting how I normally do, so to combat this I have decided to roll out a little EP today.  Enjoy.

:CocoRosie - Rainbowarriors:  The Casady sisters have always slightly weirded me out but I have to say that I find this song oddly addicting.  The slight underground hip hop edge that it carries sounds pretty good when placed along side a bunch of random noises (horses, stuttered effects) and some soft vocals.  Maybe The Adventures Of Ghosthorse And Stillborn, which is due out April 10, will end up being the duo's switch to more accessible material a la Deerhoof's latest effort.

:Love Is All - Felt Tip:  Experimental pop music and the word sweet don't generally go together but somehow this quintet makes it work.  My favorite parts comes right before the 2:50 mark when the line "Step right on the beat" is passionately repeated before the band takes you on a ride.  I wish I would have known about them awhile back so that I could have caught them at SXSW.  Maybe next year there should be a showcase for Swedish artists only.

:Loney, Dear - I Am John:  What's that you say?  You want more music from Sweden!?  Love Is All sort of has a unique sound but this guy (Emil Svanangen) is directly in the vein of Peter, Bjorn & John in just about every aspect.  Still, this is a great pop song and I absolutely love the subtle energy that pushes this gem along.  Keep an eye out on April 16 for a hard copy of Emil's latest effort, Loney, Noir.

:Minmae - Let My Friends In:  I have been a fan of this band for awhile.  The quartet's arty experimental sound has always appealed to me and this song certainly doesn't do anything to tarnish those feelings.  Be sure to take a moment to notice how the song starts out with a pretty simple sound and becomes more lush as it goes on.  If you like this you may want to check out their latest effort, 835, which is out now on Greyday Records.

:The Zincs - Head East Kaspar:  Thrill Jockey is a great label and Chicago has one of the best music scenes in the world so I am not surprised that I found this band instantly appealing.  The dark vocals and the slickly produced pop music make for a nice combination that will inevitably cause you to zone out at least once when you listen to this.  Black Pompadour is the title of their new album and it is available now.
