It's started!  Like I already mentioned I will have updates available every morning with all kinds of pictures and comments so be sure to return.  In fact today's post will be a good indication of what you can expect throughout the rest of the week, I hope you like it.

Last night at the Beauty Bar I attended an event hosted by the Austin Sound where I saw Zykos, The Glass Family, The Public, Lomita, Single Frame and AM Syndicate.

New Orleans' the Public kicked off the show with a nice display of indie rock and despite the fact that the lights were out on them throughout most of their set I thought that they did pretty well.

This energetic quartet goes by the name of Single Frame and throughout their set they had some catchy songs that carried a mix of keyboards and dance-worthy drumming.  These guys could be something to watch out for.

Next up was the band Zykos, who performed as a duo instead of a full band.  The frontman had a stellar voice that was able to drown out the crowd and the girl contributed some really nice harmony and keyboard work.  I was vaguely familiar with this band but after their set I certainly feel the need to check them out more in-depth.

AM Syndicate was the next band to perform and I thought that they had a good set.  The vocals were a tad bit shoe-gaze and the music was comprised of an overall groovy sound that tended to lead the group into lengthy instrumental jams.

Lomita was the band of the night that really impressed me.  The quintet had some songs that were either indie pop, country twanged, post punk or shoe-gaze, and they were all fantastic listens.  These guys also had great stage presence to go along with their vast array of sounds.  Expect to see more on these guys here very soon.

Lastly, the great Glass Family closed out the night.  If you have never heard this band before than you should definitely check them out since their lush indie pop sound is one that can be easily loved.  This was the perfect band to close out the night.

Until tomorrow!
