I'm running a little behind on some things that I need to get done before this weekend so I am going to have to keep this short today.  Fortunately, I have the title track from Dntel's new album, Dumb Luck, to make sure that I don't leave you guys hanging without anything to gush over.  I think Jimmy Tamborello is quite good under this moniker and it is too bad that so many people try to disregard this project as that one which spawned the Postal Service.  Maybe the list of guest vocalists, which includes: Jenny Lewis, Conor Oberst and Ed Droste (Grizzly Bear), will help bring some deserved attention to the darker, noisier soundscapes of Dntel.  Dumb Luck drops on April 24 via Sub Pop and I am very much looking forward to it.  Enjoy.

:Dntel - Dumb Luck:  To be honest it is slightly difficult to explain everything that I love about this song because of how expansive it is.  Jimmy really takes you on a ride that features short bursts of specific sounds before it moves in another direction without warning.  For instance, the first part of the song is filled with stuttered noise before using the line "You can't trust your friends/They will betray you" to suddenly whisk you away into a light filled moment of acoustic strumming.  It's weird and amazing at the same time.

On a side note, I was going to post up a video of Dntel to accompany the new song but the only one that I could find worth sharing was different images put to (This Is) The Dream Of Evan + Chan.  Don't people realize there were better songs on that album!?
