Is that stab at the RIAA not
the funniest thing ever? Have things really gotten to the point where
they are so out of control that they are starting to show up in the comic
section of the newspaper!? In any case, I don't have anything else that
would be considered funny today, but I do have some brand new music from
Pelle Carlberg. For those of you with a good memory you probably
recall my post about his last album, Everything Now!, so you will not
be surprised at my excitement for his upcoming release, In A Nutshell.
I only have the first single for you so I can't say if it is an indication
as to what we should expect when the full length arrives on March 28, but
its lighter approach to indie pop is quite a bit different than the slower
paced sound of the last album. Enjoy.
:Pelle Carlberg - I Love You, You Imbecile:
"I love the way you smile/I can always tell when you exaggerate." I
really like all of the sugary sweet lyrical gems that come out of the cutesy
banter between Pelle and Ida Marie, but I think the real highlight lies in
the twangy, upbeat pop music that effortlessly drives the song along.
Everybody needs a pick-me-up on Monday and this is definitely the song that
will do the trick.
I have always
felt that cover songs are really neat. Hearing someone
else's take on material that you hold dear to you is always
an interesting experience, as is watching others react after
they hear a particular cover. In fact seeking
out other people's reactions to these types of songs is what
I find most interesting, so I am curious to see your
comments on the video below which shows Pelle covering Elton
John's Rocket Man. Personally, I find it
wonderful.
