Holy Cow!  I know I normally put my grindhouse ramblings at the bottom of the posts since most of you probably don't care, but today I think it's important that you know of the impending release (next Tuesday) of the greatest kung fu movie ever, Five Fingers Of Death.  Actually, they slapped King Boxer on the box as the main title, which is stupid, but it looks to be a great disc nonetheless and I highly recommend that you get it.  Now, let's end the week how we started it: with a nice helping of retro goodness.  This time it comes courtesy of the Self Righteous Brothers.  The guys will be releasing their debut album, In Loving Memory Of, on Black And Greene Records at the end of the month, and I have one catchy as hell gem from it.  Enjoy.

:The Self Righteous Brothers - Diana:  Unlike the Beach Boys-esque sounds of the Explorers Club (Monday's artist for those of you who are forgetful) these guys have taken 70s classic rock and added some twangy flare to make it their own.  Actually, the sound is a bit more complex than CR meets twang-enthused pop, but that's what it boils down to when you take a moment to dissect the stomp-worthy drumming, spirited harmonica usage, playful harmonies, and the short moment of linguistic showmanship.  Once again, I can't say it gets much better than this.

I love videos like the one below for the song Sidecar Jesus.  Not only do you get a quality tune but you get something visually stimulating.  This time it just so happens to be more geared towards the humorous side of things, which is fine by me.  Be sure to watch out for cameos by Jesse of Apollo Sunshine and his father!
