Before I get to putting my foot in my mouth I want to let you know it's not a bad idea to see Hot Rod.  I watched it at an early screening last night and had a pretty good time that entailed more laughing than I thought it would.  Anyhow, remember yesterday when I openly declared the end of my search for interesting rock?  Well, as I posted up my ramble on the Blakes it occurred to me that Gogol Bordello just released a new LP titled Super Taranta, so instead of ending a day short of my week goal I will now finish up with a band that was recommended to me by the Noisetes Shingai Shoniwa during SXSW last year.  I think they're one of the most fun and interesting acts currently making music and I'm happy to be capping off the rock week with them.  Enjoy.

:Gogol Bordello - Ultimate:  If you've never heard a Gogol Bordello song in your entire life then you're in luck, as every bombastic second of this will give you an exact idea of what the band sounds like on everything else they've ever done.  For most, that would be an indicator of a lack of creativity but these guys like making sure that you're out of your seat and having a good time, so they don't need to do anything different.  I mean, I would be severely disappointed if this didn't have such a vibrant array of instrumentation and/or quotable lines like "There were never any good ol' days/They are today/They are tomorrow."

I firmly believe that Gogol Bordello would only be half as fun as they are if it weren't for what they do visually, which is why I chose to not bother with any other new songs and instead share this wonky video for Start Wearing Purple.  It'll probably make you want to drink and party the night away, so watch out.
