Which of you will be dropping
by tomorrow to check out the first ever Side One: Track One podcast? I
have most of it ready to go and even though I have the feeling that it will
be tweaked beyond reason over the next few months I am excited to be
debuting it, especially since I currently work in radio and podcasting isn't
exactly too different. I know it's going to be hard to forget the
Friday EP but to help you in that regard I decided that today would be
the perfect day for me to ramble about Portland's The Shaky Hands and their
energetic sound. The release date for the quartet's disc is forever
away ( April 10) so the chance that the two pop gems below will hold you
over is slim, so I would recommend clicking the picture to the left and
checking out their Myspace for a couple of other songs.
:The
Shaky Hands - Why & How Come:
I can't say for sure that I have ever had a two minute song entertain
me as much as this one does, it's fantastic. Nick Delffs' vocals have
a charming and energetic confidence that will instantly impress you and by
the time that you move past it to notice the finely crafted pop music that's
also in there the song ends, causing you to replay it about 10 times in a
row as you sport a huge smile. I did mention this was fantastic right?
:The Shaky Hands - The Sleepless:
If you loved Why & How Come then you are for sure going to like this
because it is just more of the same goodness. The only difference is
that Nick is a little more relaxed and the music is so breezy and
comfortable that it makes me want to take a stroll in a park on a day full
of sunshine. The moment I find something I don't like in a song from
The Shaky Hands is the day the world ends, this is certainly one of my
favorite surprises so far in 2007.
