Remember the alt-girl group Luscious Jackson?  They're back!  OK, so they  aren't really back but they do have a greatest hits compilation and a solo album from one of the ladies of the group, Jill Cunniff, dropping on February 20 via The Militia Group.  During the mid-90s, when the girls were at the height of their popularity, I was just getting into music and their alternative sound was always a pleasure to hear, especially since the radio was pretty much the only thing that gave me access to what other people were listening too.  These days I can't that I have been anxiously awaiting anything new from LJ or any of its members so you can imagine my surprise when Jill's album, City Beach, showed up in my mailbox and then subsequently made me feel like I was hanging out on beach having the time of my life.  This is good stuff, kick back and enjoy it.

:Jill Cunniff - Happy Warriors - Removed At The Militia Group's Request:  I don't recommend listening to this song at work, it will only make you want to jump out of you chair and run out into the streets as you dance your way to closest place that will allow you to joyously live out your days without a care in the world.  2007 can't continue to give me stuff like this, my shaky knees won't allow it.

:Jill Cunniff - Warm Sound - Removed At The Militia Group's Request:  When I first began to listen to City Beach I pretty got stuck on Happy Warriors because of how amazing it is but once I was ready for something else this was the song that caught my attention.  Jill has such a versatile voice and can be good in so many ways but whenever she puts on her alt-rock voice, like she does here, I automatically find myself intoxicated by it.  I think LJ fans will find this one most familiar.
