Before I start my ramble today
I just want to say that I am utterly thrilled that Peyton Manning was able
to overcome a massive point deficit to beat his arch nemesis, Tom Brady;
here's hoping he obliterates the Bears. As for today's music I am
bringing to you a fantastic indie pop band out of Seattle (not Sweden for
once) that goes by the name of Argo. The name of the group comes from
the spaceship in the 70s animated series, Star Blazer, and their
fourth release, Attack Of The Firebots, carries various themes from
the show. Now if you are thinking the information I just supplied you
sounds a little OCD then that's OK because once you hear how good this
quartet sounds I promise that you will believe they could write about paper
mache rabbits and make it interesting.

- Water's Red:
I think lush is probably an understatement when considering this
song. It starts out as what appears to be a standard melodic pop song
but then right as you get comfortable it takes off (no spaceship pun
intended) into a blend of indie rock and keyboard sounds that are as
engaging as anything. I firmly believe this song has the potential to
make your day. Enjoy.
:Argo - Alternate Ending:
In a lot of ways this song totally blow my mind. Not only is it still
very melodic, especially in the vocals, but it's dreamy, warm, groovy and
catchy all at the same time! Once again I feel the need to use the
word lush but it still feels like an understatement so I am just going to
call it an immaculately and beautifully layered pop gem that should be heard
as soon as possible.
