Well my friends I received my
Alesis Podcasting Kit in the mail this week and as of now the plans are to
play around with it this weekend and perhaps have my first podcast in two
weeks. If there are some podcasts that any of you absolutely love I
would really like to check them out so leave a comment detailing where I can
find them. As for the EP this week I decided that instead of going
with artists that bloggers are buzzing about I would instead take a moment
to look at some of the more hotly anticipated albums of 2007.
Friday EP Vol. 17
:Modest Mouse - Dashboard:
I really don't know how I feel about this song. I certainly don't
think that it's bad but I'm not sure that it is what I want to hear from the
band that made one of my favorite albums of all time, The Moon And
Antarctica, I mean the song is practically dance-worthy. These are
weird times, here's hoping the new disc, We Were Dead Before The Ship
Even Sank, has some more classic sounding Modest Mouse on it.
:Apples In Stereo - Energy:
I have to admit that I had never heard of this band until Elijah Wood
signed them to his label, Simian Records. Clearly I have been missing
out on a great band for quite sometime but because of this fantastic song I
am more than excited to hear their new album. Expect a more detailed
rambling of New Magnetic Wonder in the coming weeks.
:!!! - Heart Of Hearts:
Dance! Dance! Dance! This is usually what I want to yell out whenever
I hear something from ChkChkChk and fortunately the first song released from
their new disc, Myth Takes, still makes we want too. Heart
Of Hearts packs more energy than I could possibly describe with words so
make sure to stretch a little before downloading it, I don't want you to
strain anything while busting a move.
:Air - One Hell Of A Party -
Removed At EMI's Request:
Air has been making great music for a long time and while their new album,
Pocket Symphony, isn't one that I am pumped to hear I know that it is
going to be a disc that I will really appreciate as the year goes on.
Jarvis Cocker is the guest vocalist for One Hell Of A Party and I am
really digging all of it's mellowness right now, I think you will too.
:LCD Soundsystem - New York, I Love You -
Removed At EMI's Request:
Holy Crap! This is an incredible song. I have always been a
casual fan of LCD Soundsystem but after hearing New York, I Love You
I think that those days are over. Chalk me up as another who is more
than excited to hear what is in store for us on Sound Of Silver.
