Damon Albran is pretty talented by himself but when you throw in former members of the Clash, the Verve and Africa 70 you get something that has the potential to be pretty great.  Yet, I generally get a little nervous when super-bands like this form because the chance for greatness is as high as the chance for complete and utter failure.  Fortunately, from what I have heard, The Good The Bad & The Queen seem to be on track to do something great with their debut album that is set to drop on January 23.  The songs below are pretty cool and should hold you off until the aforementioned release date but if they can't then you can always pre-order the album before January 15, this way you will be able to hear five tracks from the self titled disc.

:The Good The Bad & The Queen - 80's Life - Removed At EMI's Request:  This song is kind of weird in that it is essentially a psychedelic pop ballad but I am totally in love with it.  I don't know exactly what I was expecting the band to sound like but I know for sure that I never thought they would be as experimental and adventurous as 80's Life.  This really is a brilliant track that I think will stick with me, and you, throughout the year.

:The Good The Bad & The Queen - History Song - Removed At EMI's Request:  In case you didn't know Danger Mouse produced the band's debut album and History Song is obviously a track that he influenced heavily.  There are some interesting melodies with a solid beat and various sounds sprinkled underneath that remind me of a toned down Gorillaz song that smashed into some early era Blur.  In fact I think that this song is more along the lines of what most were expecting from Albarn and Co. so if 80's Life was a little too WTF for you then this is probably more up your alley.
