Given that I'm inching ever so close to the annual SOTO holiday break I figured this would be a good time to ramble about MGMT.  Ever since their performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest I've been hearing really positive things about Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden's electronic pop act.  But, I honestly didn't get around to giving them a listen until earlier this week.  This was certainly a mistake on my part, as  I should have been absolutely loving Oracular Spectacular since it popped up on iTunes in October.  The duo are nothing short of an absolute blast, and I think that the song and the video below below are going to make this Thursday worth remembering.  So, don't say I didn't deliver at least one treat this month.  Enjoy.

:MGMT - Time To Pretend:  In so many ways this is actually exactly what I was thinking that the Scissor Sisters' sophomore effort would sound like, but better.  Everything about this works as some sort of beautifully constructed epic piece of pop that leaves you wishing that the song just went on and on and never bothered ending.  Seriously, it's insanely good.  It even has some fantastic lyrical quips like: "Let's make some music/Let's make some money/Find some models for wives."  Nice.

Simply put, Electric Feel is an amazing song.  In fact, I think it might be the best dance-worthy pop tune that I've come across in a long time.   If you manage to avoid getting lost in the swirling visuals then I promise this will have you dancing around in no time.
