Today I have new music from the
Heirs, an artist that I rambled about roughly a year ago. I don't
expect any of you to actually remember or even know the post, as it was
during a time when SOTO was nothing but a blip on the blogosphere radar and
the majority of you weren't around. But, if you do then I'll assume
you've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of a physical copy of their work,
which means that after a seemingly forever long wait today is your lucky day
given the fact that the local quartet are finally all set to deliver their
EP, Bankruptcy Is A Ten Year Mistake. My guess is that you
won't be disappointed with the disc whether or not you're new to the crafty,
versatile work of Courtney, Earl, Stephen and Jacob. Enjoy.
:The
Heirs - The Name Of:
This is a new version of the track that I posted last year. It hasn't
necessarily changed a lot, but the band has made the kind of subtle
improvements that give it a bump in quality. More importantly though,
the changes made steer far from the realm of overproduction, which would
have seriously taken away from the charm of the music and the wit of
simplistic lyrics like: "I am a girl my age."
:The
Heirs - Luxury:
I don't think that I would have a problem if the band
decided to put out an EP comprised entirely of songs like
the one above, but I would be lying if I said it wouldn't be
an injustice to miss out on an this upbeat, energetic gem.
Plus, where's the fun in making the same song over and over
again? I think this group would rather forge ahead in
a new direction.
