I'm considering about adding a film section to the blog.  It won't get as much attention as the music does, but I think it would be a nice place to share my numerous cinematic experiences.  Would any of you be interested in such a feature?  Let me know!  Alright, let's move onto a songbird by the name of Sarah Blasko.  The Australian first came onto the scene in 2005 with the album The Overture And The Underscore (which is a favorite of mine from my college radio days) and now she's back with a new effort for Low Altitude Records titled What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have.  I think it may end up being one of my surprise records of the year since I had no idea it was being made (thank whoever for promoters).  Enjoy.

:Sarah Blasko - Planet New Year:  I hate to say it, but this song has made me realize that over the years I completely forgot how good Sarah is.  Her voice is whatever she wants it to be (beautiful, haunting, charming, powerful) and her atmospheric arrangements unfold in the most lush of ways.  And songwriting?  That's just as enthralling.  I can't get over how easy it is to get lost in this.  Download it now if you have even enjoyed My Brightest Diamond or St. Vincent in any way.

Below is an animated video by Lucy Dyson and Isobel Knowles for the song {Explain},.  The track, which is also from the upcoming LP, is pretty great on its own, but the visuals that the ladies created to accompany it are some of the most interesting I've seen all year.
