Alright, today I have some ska
pop, which is a little weird given that I really haven't thought about the
genre in some time. It's even stranger that this past Friday I met
someone who has a ska band. I even gave the guy a card and told him to
check out the site even though I never ramble on anything ska related.
Then, I'm goofing around this weekend and out of nowhere the all-teen,
all-girl Oreskaband arrive and instantly entertain me to no ends. Is
it too much of a reach to say the world works in mysterious ways? I
think not. At any rate, the Japanese sextet recently released a self
titled album that's a U.S. exclusive, so if you're looking for something to
shake up the tunes on your iPod/Zune then I think it would work well.
Enjoy.

- 20 Tips:
Man, outside of the sugary sweet vocals and a language that I don't know in
the slightest bit, this sure does make me flashback to when I was a kid
hanging out in my room listening to the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
It also makes we want to dig around in my CD collection for some of the pop
punk that I used to like. Personally, I love that it makes me want to
do such things. How many people are still having a good time with
music like this? Ska pop isn't exactly a high priority on most
people's list. Still, this gem makes me want to see what else I may be
missing out on these days.
The fun that
Oreskaband push out through their sound should also been
seen, which is why I have this video of the girls playing
the song Knife And Fork. It's mostly a collage
of live shows clips and the ladies having a good time in
various places, so I think it gets the point across.
