I'm trying my hardest to not
sound like a broken record but last night I caught another sneak preview.
This time the film was Don Cheadle's Talk To Me, which I'm calling a
must-see. In fact, it was so good I'm positive it will get some love
when it's Oscar time. Now, onto the sweet pop rock sounds of Matt Pond
PA. The band is finally set to release their seventh full
length, Last Light, on September 25 for Altitude Records. It
was suppose to of come earlier, but the guys apparently didn't like the
quality of the original recordings, so they went back and did it all over.
I'm guessing that was a pretty good idea since the few songs I've heard have
me (and you, maybe?) anxiously awaiting the day in which the whole disc will
be available for public consumption. Enjoy.

Pond PA - People Have A Way:
This is the latest track that's been made available (thanks to MOKB) and so
far it's my favorite. I love how it's that kind of pop rock which has
been meticulously assembled in the most accessible of ways. Sure, it
doesn't require much effort to take in and enjoy, but the nifty way that it
finds a nice balance between being simple and interesting goes a long way in
making sure that the word bland doesn't pop into your head. What more
could you possibly want?
This video is
for a song titled So Much Trouble, which is from
2005's Several Arrrows Later. The tune is
softer and more pop than the one above, but it almost
doesn't matter since the piece has a really neat half
animation/half real style that makes it worth watching
whether you do or don't pay any attention to the lovely
sounds coming out of your speakers.
