I have new Minus The Bear!  Sure, it technically hit the net on Tuesday but I felt that the mixtape I posted yesterday was a little bit more pressing since it contained so much great music that's a bit harder to find.  Plus, I'm still on the fence about posting songs from albums that don't come out for quite a long time.  I think there is a tendency for most of us bloggers to inadvertently never bring up the releases again since we have already written about them.  Now with that being said, the new song is so good that I just had to share it.  I really am holding steady that the band's progress shown in the track below is just a hint of what awaits our ears on August 21, when Planet Of Ice arrives courtesy of Suicide Squeeze Records.  Enjoy.

:Minus The Bear - Dr L'ling:  I have to admit that my first experience with Minus The Bear came from Menos El Oso.  From that disc I branched out and explored the rest of their catalog, which I love very much, but I still feel that MEO was their crowning achievement.  I think this song feels like a logical step forward from that album since the band seems to have jumped feet first into the deep end of the prog rock pool.  The arrangement is complex, but not as experimental as their previous material, as the guys keep things pretty organized despite the intricacy of everything.  This isn't a quick burst that will inspire you to dance around.  It's more of an extended experience that is meant to knock you on your ass, so just stay in your seat and listen.

Below is the video for Pachuca Sunrise, a song off Menos El Oso.  I love the song, but the video is kind of weird.  Check it out and decide for yourself if it works or not.
