I think that all who visit this blog today need to have their face rocked off by Dave Rand's punk electronic act, Robot Goes Here.  The reason I want Dave to do is the rocking is simply because he is doing some amazingly cool stuff that involves just him and a motley IBM Laptop.  In fact to properly describe the sound I should note that it is actually punk enthused electronic music since Dave performs only with his laptop and used Ray Martin (Gorillaz) and Ted Young (Taking Back Sunday) to mix the album.  Those two guys alone could explain why the new Infidel Records release, The Byte Is In My Blood, sounds the way it does but I think that I will say it's because Dave spent his youth in 12 different punk bands.  Enjoy.

:Robot Goes Here - When The Well Runs Dry:  Any and all of the modern punk bands that are around today wish that they could put together something as good as this.  My favorite part comes during a moment at the 2:10 mark when the sound suddenly shifts from a frantic array of stuttered effects to a cleaner segment that allows for Dave's voice to stand out.  He really has great a set of pipes that allow him to effortlessly sling his vocals around in any style he pleases.  Feel free to jump wildly while listening.

:Robot Goes Here - What All The Screaming's About:  "Take the microphone and scream your song."  Dave doesn't give a lot of lyrical gems that will change your life but he does throw out some great one liners that work in the context of the song.  The sound in this one has a neat Taking Back Sunday-esque feel about it so this is for any you that have ever wondered what they would sound like if they threw out all of their instruments in exchange for a computer.  Feel free to sing-a-long loudly.
