Normally I would have had this post up a lot earlier but I stayed up too late messing around with what you see at the top of the page.  Hopefully you guys are into it,  I thought that the other one was a bit too simple and didn't stand out enough.  Anyways, for today's post I wanted to take some time to comment about the Math and Physics Club.  I generally try to stay away from anything math related but these songs are so catchy I couldn't help myself.  Indie pop is good and these guys are good at it, take a moment and check it out.

:Math And Physics Club - Darling, Please Come Home:  MAPC is not too surprisingly from Seattle, where a lot of great indie pop bands seem to come from.  I wonder if people out there are tired of indie pop?  The thing that I like most about this song is how light it feels.  The music and the vocals are soft and fun to sing-a-long too and like I said, it has this really great light feeling about it.  Belle and Sebastion comparisons come up a lot when anything about this band is mentioned and they are all pretty spot on in terms of what to expect when you give this a listen.  This song is from the new self titled Math And Physics Club album that will be here sometime in October on Matinee Recordings.

:Math And Physics Club - Weekends Away:  I mentioned how "light" the song up above felt and more of that great feeling continues here in this extremely catchy song.  There is even some nice little harmony enthused parts that provide some layers to an otherwise simple indie pop song.  Simple is what is great about this band though, whenever I hear these songs I feel like I should grab my Mp3 Player, load it up with MAPC, and then take a stroll in the park.  This song is from the Weekends Away EP that is available now on Matinee Recordings.
