I love Page France. There
is not one thing that I don't love about Page France but there are a couple
of things that I love more then others such as Michael Nau and Whitney
McGraw's vocals, I adore how they sound together. So today I was
getting my Myspace fix when I noticed that Page France had posted a new
song. I thought that it was odd that I didn't know anything about it,
especially since I help do press for Page France, but it actually ended up
being from a side project from the aforementioned vocalists called The
Broadway Hush. I will admit that I had never heard of this project and
once again I will note that I help do press for Page France. I
will never be sure how I missed this but I am really happy that I have it
now because The Broadway Hush is pretty great.
:The Broadway Hush - Tonight You Belong To Me (Gene
Austin Cover):
This is the latest song that the duo has posted up for public consumption
and it essentially is a really sweet version of the old Gene Austin song.
Michael and Whitney have fantastic harmony together and the slight guitar
ukulele
picking that is around throughout the song is a pleasure to listen too.
My favorite part is at the 1:24 mark when the whistling shows up to take the
song to a level of sweetness that is unmatched by anything. This low-fi
gem is highly recommended.
:The Broadway Hush - Rooster:
Whitney takes the center stage in this song and it brings a whole new
dimension to The Broadway Hush. I kind of figured that all of their
songs would be a sort of low-fi acoustic affair but this song feels lush and
much more indie pop then I would expect to hear from them. I am ready
to be away from the Texas heat and into the more fall type weather and
Rooster makes me want that even more. When I hear this it makes me
think about all of the different colors and how much people automatically
switch to a semi-holiday mood despite the fact that it is still a few months
from anything winter related. Check this out if you want to hear some
amazing vocals and an all around beautiful song.
