Well friends it is the end of
the week and I am happy to be bringing you the second volume of my Friday
EP series. I want you up and moving around this weekend so
the theme of the EP is a bit more dance inspired so that you will
feel the need to bust as many moves as possible. Enjoy and have a nice
weekend.
Friday EP Vol. 2
:Asobi Seksu - Strawberries (Cassettes Won't Listen
Remix):
Asobi Seksu has been blowing up the blogs for quite awhile now, which is
not surprising because their album, Citrus, is pretty stellar.
Remixes tend to be very hit or miss with me but this one hits and is very
enjoyable. It some ways I think this works better than the original,
which is strange because the original is so great.
:Teddybears - Yours To Keep (Annie Remix):
I have apparently missed all things Teddybears over the years and the only
reason that I decided to check them out was the fact that a whole slew of
remixes have been popping up everywhere. I think Annie is fun and her
vocals are what really makes this song cool. In fact this is the one
remix from the all the others that I really liked.
:Unknown - The Importance Of Being:
This is the supposed leaked Postal Service song but no one really knows for
sure if it is the Postal Service and that is why I listed the song as
Unknown. The song moves and sounds like something that Jimmy and Ben
would create but the vocals in the song are not Ben's. I know there
are some who think that it is Jimmy singing but I am not sure. All I
know is that I like the song regardless of whether or not it is the Postal
Service.
:Monster Movie - Driving Through The Red Lights:
Shoegazer bands seem to be an ever growing trend and with all trends there
are always little subdivisions that put little twists on it. Monster
Movie does just that with their dance inspired shoegazing. I love how
lush this song feels and I think that you will too.
:Junior Boys - In The Morning featuring Andi Toma:
Out of all of the songs that
are in this post today this is probably the one that will make you feel good
the most. It has this energy behind it that is so hard not to enjoy,
in fact if you only download one song out of this EP make sure that it is
this one. I shouldn't be surprised though these guys have been making
great electro pop for awhile.
