If you come here often you have probably seen that I love to link just about everything to someone's Myspace page.  I think that site is the best thing in the world for networking and it is amazing how easy it is to stumble across mounds of great music.  For instance, my post today was going to be about Tiny Vipers, who just got signed to Sub Pop.  I am a big fan of the Seattle based label and I thought it would be nice to post up some stuff about their new artist.  At least that was I how I felt until I got to her Myspace page and noticed that she only had one song available for download and it had less then stellar audio quality.  I then checked out to see who was in her "Top 8" and I noticed a band by the name of The Can't See.  What I found after checking out their page was a couple of indie pop gems, Myspace is just too good to be true sometimes.

:The Can't See - Sad Version:  The Can't See are from Seattle and have been one of the more pleasant bands that I have stumbled across lately.  The band is fresh off playing Bumbershoot, which one of my friends attended, and they have done some touring with Band Of Horses so it is nice to see that they like to keep good company.  I have been in an indie pop mood lately (could you not tell by what I have been posting the last week or two?) and now here is another band that makes me want to launch some sort of Indie Pop Festival.  The vocals and music in this song are so perfectly done and it has what I always go for, smart and witty lyrics.  My favorite part is at the 3:10 mark when it slows down and reminds me of the Magic Numbers.

:The Can't See - Young Ideas:  I absolutely love how this song starts out and if it doesn't grab your attention then just start it over because I think you must have missed something.  "You better make it a double because your lawyer takes half."  I mentioned that the Can't See were smart song writers and this song really brings it home, it is full of great line after great line.  While you are listening too all of those witty lyrics make sure you pay attention to the nicely done piano that drives this song.

John Atkins, Thomas Wright, and Ken Jarvey are some talented guys that everyone needs to be on the lookout for because one day you are going to see their smartly crafted indie pop all over the place.  As always, go be their friend on Myspace.
