So I have been trying to come
up with something neat to offer you guys every Friday and I think that I
have finally decided what I would like to do. From now on you will be
able to drop by and download what I am calling the Friday EP.
The idea is that at the end of every week I will post up five songs that I
think you might enjoy, this way it gives you a little something extra
to gush over throughout the weekend. This is the first week so enjoy
the hell out of it and tell your friends!
Friday EP Vol. 1
:Matt Weddle - Hey Ya (Outkast Cover):
I know that this has been on a number of blogs, and all over YouTube, but it
is so good and it has been stuck in my head for a few weeks. I
love how it only took a guy and an acoustic guitar to completely change my
interpretation of the song.
:Owen - Bad News:
Mike Kinsella has been making great music for a long time and I have to say
that I am pretty excited about his new disc coming out this fall. I
love how every tiny piece of this song feels put together by someone who is
passionate about what he does.
*I suppose that I should note that I work for Riot Act
Media, who does PR for Owen.
*This is a post of love and not a post that is
trying to make Mike Kinsella bigger then Elvis.
:Roman Candle - Something Left To Say:
You are going to adore this song and all of it's nicely constructed alt
country indie pop ways. These guys are really fantastic and if you
like this then I recommend checking out more.
:The Rapture - Pieces Of The People We Love:
The Rapturre are back and in all honesty it sounds a little strange.
I guess my first thought of this band will always be of the dark and
brooding Sister Savior. In any case this song is a pretty upbeat piece of
coolness.
:Mason Proper - A Chance Encounter:
I totally fell in love with
these guys earlier this year and for whatever reasons I have had this song
bouncing around a lot in my head. These guys have an interesting take
on what indie pop should sound like.
