It's the end of the week!  I'm actually a little bummed about that because so far this week has been one giant lazy time for me and there has not been a moment when I have not appreciated it.  Anywho, this week's theme of the EP is all about the Halloween songs.  I was going to wait until the actual day of Halloween to post these but then I realized that most people, including myself, will be enjoying costume parties and such this weekend.  The sound below is pretty diverse, enjoy the songs and be sure to check your candy before you gobble it down.

Friday EP Vol. 8

:Three - Halloween:  At some point long ago I saw these guys open for Coheed and Cambria and I thought they were amazing.  I know that prog music is hit or miss with most people but for the sake of Halloween throw away all of those inhibitions and take a moment to listen too this fantastic song.  The entire 3:02 is undeniably catchy and frankly this is what I wish the latest C&C album had sounded like.

:The Postmarks - Everyday Is Halloween (Ministry Cover):  A few weeks ago I commented on how this band had released one of the prettiest indie pop songs that I had heard this year.  Now I would like to say they have released one of the prettiest Halloween themed indie pop songs ever.  The vocals are spot on and the music does a great job at creating a cool spooky-esque vibe.

:Evangelicals - The Halloween Song:  I really love how charming this song is, especially when the singer wishes you a Happy Halloween right before the end.  The Oklahoma band just released their full length debut this summer and after hearing this indie pop gem I am definitely going to be seeking it out.

:Panic At The Disco - This Is Halloween:  I don't really listen to this band at all and this will probably be the only time that they ever appear on this blog.  Regardless of that this version of the Nightmare Before Christmas song fits into the bands theatrical style and is probably one of the best songs in this mix as far as being Halloween themed goes.

:The Flaming Lips - Halloween On The Barbary Coast:  This song is amazingly good.  On the other hand it is The Flaming Lips and I don't think that I should have to do much to convince you to check them out.  I think this song is the perfect way to end the EP this week, it is stuffed full of moody vocals and an atmospheric sound that screams Halloween.
