I have absolutely no problem admitting that I did cartwheels in my head when
the Judge said that, I mean it would have been awful to spend 16 hours next
week sitting in a box with 11 other people. My only problem is that I
still had to get up early yesterday morning to sit in the most boring
environment ever and for all my effort all I received was a measly $7, it
should have been that much per hour. In any case I am totally
excited about tonight as I am going to see Wolfmother and the Silversun
Pickups! I believe it is going to be a good show so make sure to check
back tomorrow for a full report. Onto the music...
My love of instrumental music has really grown over the last year or so and
one of the bands that is responsible for that is Explosions In The Sky.
Sadly, they have been suspiciously absent, outside of the totally random
Rescue EP, over the last few years and while I'm not entirely sure of
the reasons behind their extended absence I can at least say it is poised to
come to an end when the band's brand new full length effort, All Of A
Sudden I Miss Everyone, drops in 2007. I don't have the entire
album yet, just the one track below, but given that it is only six songs
long I am guessing that it is going to be their most ambitious effort yet;
my excitement for the disc and the chance to see them live when the tour in
support of it is beyond comprehension.

In The Sky - Welcome, Ghosts:
Awesome, that is the word that pops into my head every time
this song starts and it only gets better when it becomes thunderous around
the 1:35 mark and I am forced to switch from awesome to whoa.
There is so much to love in this song, I get especially giddy during the
time between the 2:36 and 4:12 points when it gives you a chance to catch
your breath before shoving you on what feels like a sonic rollercoaster for
the last minute and a half of its six minute runtime. Whether or not
you like this band or instrumental music I guarantee you will find something
amazing in this song, download it now.
All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone will be available on February 20 via
Temporary Residence!
