Quick post!  I have a very long day ahead of me that includes work and a drive to Houston to catch Lady Sovereign and, if things go well, Cursive.  So enjoy the stuff below that everyone is buzzing about this week and make sure to check back tomorrow for at least one show review!

Friday EP Vol. 12

:Bang Gang - Find What You Get:  This is an awkwardly named band but their music, which can only be described as dreamy romantic pop, is pretty great.  For whatever reason it comes as no surprise that this band is from Iceland; now if only I could figure out if that is because of Bardi Johannson's vocals or the fact that he is named Bardi.  This is good stuff so check it out.

:Bonobo - Nightlife (Featuring Bajka):  Ninja Tune has been releasing quality stuff for quite some time and from what I am hearing about Bonobo's third full length, Nightlite, that trend is set to continue.  Sonically this song is as beautiful as it gets and I think it is mostly because of how well Bajka's vocals work with the jazz, electronic and eastern influences that are layered throughout it.

:Candy Bars - Enough To Choke A Cold Air:  I can't say that I know any other bands from Tampa, Florida and if I had to guess why it would probably be because people can't stop talking about this one.  Candy Bars has been all the rage lately and I think it may be because of their dreamy pop music that somehow manages to feel intimate and wide-open at the same time; it really makes for quite a captivating listen.

:Menomena - Wet And Rusting:  I had never heard of this band until this week but this song is so spectacular that I will definitely be checking out their entire catalog.  This is really some of the coolest experimental pop music that has come out this year; I love how it starts out kind of electronic and then before you know it the electronic is replaced by a piano.  Wet And Rusting will undoubtedly blow your mind, it's just that stunning.

:The Lovekevins - Private Life Of A Cat:  If you have ever wondered what an upbeat Torquil Campbell would sound like in a Swedish pop band then this is absolutely something you should listen too.  My love for Swedish Pop is enormous but even if it wasn't I think this song would win me over; it has an undeniable charm about it and I love how impeccable every detail of it is.
