As it turns out tomorrow is Thanksgiving and since there will not be anything new from me posted up I figured I should give you guys something that will stick with you over the day long break.  Normally that would be slightly difficult but after receiving Tahiti 80's third full length, Fosbury, earlier this week I think I have just the thing to tide all of you over until Friday.  T80 started in France during the late 90's and while their sound before the new album was primarily rooted in more straight edge indie pop they decided to bring in Neal Pogue (Outkast) and Serban Ghenea (N.E.R.D.) to make a new style of indie pop, one that is inspired by hip hop and soul music.  I realize that is a pretty interesting description for an indie pop band, especially given the song by them that I put in the last EP, but amazingly it comes together effortlessly.  There really aren't too many words that can describe just how fun Fosbury is so I am going to have to ask you to just download the songs below so that you can see for yourself.

:Tahiti 80 - Changes:  If pop radio ever takes a minute to realize that this band is the equivalent of a bigger, better and more inspired Maroon 5 then I guarantee you that they will instantly become a household name.  Of course that would mean that we would be hearing this song all over the place for months but with its insatiable beat and dreamy electro pop vocals I know it's not something that would annoy me, ever.  Also, there is a Jaga Jazzist Remix of Changes and if you have some time to search for it then it is definitely worth checking out.

:Tahiti 80 - Something About You Girl:  I suppose a proper description of this would be soul pop but I should point out that I technically just made that up and I can't really say for sure that I have ever heard soul enthused indie pop.  On the other hand even if I have it was obviously forgettable wherein this is something that is totally worthy of grooving too for overly long periods of time.  If things get too chaotic tomorrow during Thanksgiving then I highly recommend taking a moment to use the smoothness that is Something About You Girl to make things better again.

Fosbury, which has a bonus disc for the US release, is available now through The Militia Group but if you would like to hear a few more tracks before investing then you can jump over to the band's Myspace.
