I don't know how this week has
been for you guys so far but it has been extremely busy for me.
Luckily I only have a couple more Christmas gifts to purchase and a couple
of work related things to take care of before I can start to focus on 2007,
so the craziness is close to ceasing for half a second. Anywho, today
I am bringing Partyline and their furious pop punks ways to your attention.
The band, which is made up of Angela Melkisethian, and Crystal Bradley
and former Bratmobile front woman Allison Wolfe, just released their debut
album, Zombie Terrorists, on
Retard Disco and I think that they will be
one of the more talked about artists once the new year starts. This is
the perfect band to counter the fried brain that you probably have from
studying all week, enjoy.
:Partyline
- Trophy Wifey:
It may be simply because I am looking in the wrong places but I
haven't heard punk music like this in a long time. I admire the
frenetic thrill ride that the band takes on you during the two minute
runtime of the song but what really amazes me is how they never lose their
accessibility. Every line in the song is sing-a-long worthy and
smartly written so pay attention to them when you give the song a listen,
you won't be disappointed!
:Partyline - No Romantic:
"Don't hate me, let me love you." I think Partyline could just
focus on quasi-sociopolitical songs if they wanted but I really like how
they take some time to branch out to songs that are easy for people to
relate too. This song is crazy short, coming in at 1:22, but it's so
fun that it could be six minutes and it would still feel the same length,
too short. I really hope that punk music drifts away from bands like
Fall Out Boy and more towards the vintage sound of Partyline.
