Today's Quick Mention: If you decide to get out for a little music
this weekend I highly recommend that you join me at the Mohawk for a
performance by Maserati and Mono. It will be awesome in ways that only
instrumental music can be. I promise.
I'm
a little late to the party in regards to the track below, but I wanted to
end the week on something a bit upbeat, and Free Energy seemed like
the appropriate choice. For now you can only get a digi-EP from the
band, but Astralwerks/DFA Records will be releasing their debut full length on
January 26. Also, if you'd like, you can check them out live at the
Mohawk on November 20. Enjoy.

Energy - Something In Common:
I knew the band had a knack for hooks, but based one the
other songs I had heard I thought they were pretty much a
guitar driven act that made pop rock songs for the ages.
Here, there's a small portion of that, but the song is
essentially riding in the front seat of the dance-anthem
bus, and it doesn't seem the least bit out of place.
Consider me anxious to hear more.
