Sleater-Kinney – Animal
Why in the world did Sleater-Kinney leave this rad track off of The Center Won’t Hold? It should have definitely been included, especially over the woeful Bad Dance. Anyways, I’m really excited for their show at ACL Live on November 9.
Mikal Cronin – I’ve Got Reason
There’s a very Nirvana-like sound on display in this new single from Mikal Cronin, and I’m really into it. His fourth album, Seeker, is due out on October 25. Be sure to see him at Barracuda on November 27.
Failed Flowers – Faces
Failed Flowers is Anna Burch and Fred Thomas, and they’ve got a 7″ coming that’s a part of Slumberland’s 30th Anniversary Singles Club. Would be great if they continued on and did more together.
What a great track. Hits my sweet spot, as do many Slumberland tracks. Too bad it is not available on Spotify. I am definitely not dropping $100 for 13 pieces of vinyl.
