The 90s rock fan in me can’t get enough of this new one from Slothrust.  The band’s fourth album, The Pact, is due out September 14.

Parquet Courts – Today Your Love, Tomorrow The World

Parquet Courts went quirky and lo-fi for this cover of the Ramones’ Today Your Love, Tomorrow The World.  It works.

Tanukichan – Natural

If you’re into Jay Som, Japanese Breakfast and the like, then Tanukichan should really hit the spot.  I’m excited to check out her album, Sundays, when it gets released this Friday.

Trevor Powers – Dicegame

In case you missed it, Youth Lagoon is done and Trevor Powers is now operating under his actual name.  To be honest, I haven’t really latched onto anything he’s released this year, but I think this track has a lot of interesting sounds in it.  Definitely put on some headphones.  Side note, an album called Mulberry Violence is coming on August 17.

Frontperson – Tick-Tock (Frontrunner)

Frontperson is made up of Kathryn Calder (The New Pornographers) and Mark Andrew Hamilton (Woodpigeon), and their debut single is incredibly charming.  Frontrunner is due out September 21.
