Cat Power

I was hoping Austin would be one of the stops on the recently announced Cat Power tour, but it isn’t.  Bummer.  On the bright side, word of her upcoming road activities allowed me to realize she had released another single.  Check it out.  Matador will release Suns on September 4.  Enjoy.

:Cat Power – Cherokee:  The lyrics here aren’t exactly cheery, but I think you’ll struggle to disagree with me saying that Chan Marshall sounds like she’s having fun.  The song has a cool 90s dance vibe to it, and there’s some sort of bird call near the end that makes me chuckle every single time I hear it.  Sad music can be fun!  Or something.
